Will Caruana drop below 2800 again in 2017?

Not in 2017 he won't... :-)

Hey, I would like to know the best way to get a queen in 3 moves. Anyone can help me? Thank you in advance.

I don't know about you, but I alwasy start out with one at the beginning of every game. So I don't see why you would need to get one that early.

Well... it hasn't happened yet, but he's in serious danger. It probably won't happen in this tournament (although it might), but if he plays poorly in his next tournament ...

Well, what did I say?

I don't know because I didn't expect it.

I don't know why Caruana all of sudden keeps losing to 2600s. First it was Nigel Short in Gibraltar, then it was Zherebukh and Akobian at the US Championship, and now Hou Yifan. What makes the losses even stranger is that, if I remember correctly, he hasn't lost to any 2700+ players in the same time span.

I'm going to go on a limb and say yes, he will, although briefly. He will spend most of 2017 above 2800, and end the year above 2800 but below his curent rating (2827). What do other people think?

Well?

Caruana dropped all the way down to 2794 in October, 2017. He's currently 2811. He's deservedly second only to Carlsen in standard time controls.

Let's see what happens in 2018. I currently don't see anyone who can challenge Carlsen's consistency and pass his rating. Carlsen could have a bad match and lose the world title, but he'll still be #1 in the rating lists even if that happens.
