I think it is worth it and it works for me if it gains a check because most three-check games don't go to endgames. I am pretty bad at 3-check though so I am probably wrong.

In about half the games I play of 3-check, my opponent sacrifices a major piece (knight or bishop) in the opening, usually in the first five moves.
Sometimes the sacrifice works, but usually my opponent remains a piece down for the whole game, and I aggressively trade pieces until the endgame where it's easy to win with the extra piece.
Do you think the sacrifice is worth it, and does it work for you?
