Sorry I'm getting of topic, also I think that these new chess variants are really good, but also complicated.

Well, well. It's so refreshingly nice to know that someone gave me the power to affect him or her like that;

most especially considering that he or she doesn't even notice that I don't do this anywhere else on chess.com;

Case in point: virtually no other years-old variant gets revived this many times just to say that it's a cool variant; or to go off on some very random off topic nonsense that has nothing to do with much of anything.... Unless it's likely being done by the OP in an alternative screen name. Certainly my and my fellow chess.com pals' variants do not get revived like this.

Also, on the side, my chess rating has absolutely no relevance and bearing in the subject matter at hand. If you have to use a detracting ad hominem counter reply like that, it shows your struggle towards this uphill battle.

Now, with all that being said, here is my point driven home:

If you think these variants are really good, I invite you to kindly play a game with someone. Learn the rules of all the pieces and all special maneuvers that may exist in them. Play a match to the end. Tell me how it goes. If you can do all of that and find the game meaningful, endearing, fruitful, insightful and the like, I completely give you permission to throw this reply of mine into the garbage. (Take note, I will cross out my entire post, date it, and acknowledge you positively as being the reason for my having been proven wrong. I have actually taken the high road to do that for people before! Because people find it honest, down-to-earth and simply respectable.) You would have found a variant that's absolutely good for you, and it was meant to be.

Like I mentioned, we're not here to talk about my chess abilities; nor about how I allegedly stand playing Spell Chess. (I don't know what that variant is; nor do I have it in my quite unavailable schedule to learn it; typing this post takes a whole let less time and effort than learning a chess game would.). You revived this thread just to say that I annoy you for "arguing" with people and that this variant is cool. I'm telling you directly, from my years of experience in this thread, that these variants, to most including myself, hold no real value beyond aesthetic visual appeal.

And, if you are @Ace569er in yet another of his alternative screen names (which I still have my high suspicions for), you would know that already.

Now, like I also mentioned, I allow myself to be wrong about this. If you think this game is really cool, learn the rules and play a game with someone. Share the game with us; win or lose. Maybe it really is very much fun. If it turns out to you to be enjoyable, then this variant thread would have gained an awesome play; which showcase of it will invite others to try it. To hell with what I say.

Putting on a superficial, pretentious face of bravado by challenging me to Spell chess, just to see 'how tough [I am]', is very typical @Ace569er Erick Mas behavior. Unfortunately for him, that was kind of a dead giveaway. Heh 😌😌

Well, I suppose we'll be waiting another few months, or perhaps another full year or so, before he comes back again under yet another brand new alias.

These games would be best played online; or, rather, with a generated chess engine of sorts.

One cannot remember all the rules, so being reminded by a available moves made visual in a chess program would help.
