I'd like to propose a Dungeons and Dragons style of Chess where each piece has Life Points, Maximum Hit points and Attack Points.

Each round, Non moving pieces restore Life up to the Maximum Hit points .
Each Turn Fighting pieces both take damage and the survivor claims the square.

Pawns  ~ 3 Life,  3  Hits Max,  1 Attack  Damage  (to inflict)
Bishop ~  5 Life, 5 Hits  Max, 3 Attack Damage  (to inflict)
Knight  ~ 5 Life, 5 Hits Max  3 Atttack Damage  (to inflict)
Rook  ~ 5 Life,  8 Hits  Max  5 Attack Damage  (to inflict)
Queen  ~ 15 Life, 15 Hits Max, 9 Attack Damage  (to inflict)
King ~ 10 Life, 10 Hits Max,  5 Attack Damage  (to inflict)

Each piece has a Life initially equal to the Max Hit points.
Whenever a piece captures another, the Attackers Damage is subtracted from the Defender's Life. if Life goes below 0, the losing piece is removed from the board.  If Defenders Life remains above  zero, tthe Attackers piece stays where it is, and the Attacker 's Life is reduced by the Defender's Attack points as well.  Each non-attacking or non-defending player gains 1 Life point of healing. if that player piece has not moved. This is called resting. You regain Life points by resting.

Variations

There could be a Healing Spell to immediately restore Life up to Hits (maximum)
There could be a Stamina Spell to increase Hits by 2.
There could be a Ttraining Spell to increase Attack Damage by 2.

That is all. Let me now if this is interesting.

The strategy is elevated , not only positional sttrategy but also economic strategy.
(can you afford to engage with battle?)

Variation

You can see your team's statistics but the other team's statistics are from view .

Your thoughts are appreciated.
