The same setup won't work every game. You have to look for weakness in opponent's setup and target that.

bla_w_gy

some setups will, with some modifications.

white- my original automate setup.  two sets of doubled rooks with a knight pair and queen, with 6 pawns on the 3rd/6th rank.  king and queen are interchangeable, rooks can be manipulated differently if more help is needed on another side of the board.  bishops may also work to replace the knight pair.
black- my friend @DrewGainer uses this setup- introduced it to me, actually.  quad fianchetto for strong diagonals with supporting pawns and four rooks in the center.  king can go on either side of the board, extra pawn is available if one side is heavily attacked (shown setup only uses 34 out of 35 available points of material).
both setups are very good to use, although i've found that the setup shown with the black pieces (the quad fianchetto setup) is slightly superior to mine.

This one wasn't even fair. The whole game, I moved one pawn.

And this one ended in 11 moves......you really shouldn't sacrifice all your Queens to rooks.

Not bad as an idea, but there we go, I lost here and probably it isn't surprising, every setup loses once in a while. I will recommend to everyone, to just find their own style or approach.

Here I have swapped the king and the rook, as to me it seems, that the rook is a bit more active towards the center, instead of the king. happy.png

Idk if it will be useful to anyone, but many are faced with the problem of nine chess knights. This is one of the solutions. 10P+6B+Q is good enough too.

I am too lazy to make a new post (sorry for that), so i will just leave a link https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/automate-chess-setups to a post with setup analysis and meta analysis. Maybe this will help to understand what is current meta in 1800+ rating and so on. Actually meta changed a bit since i posted it, but it still should be useful. If you think i missed a popular setup, message me please.

THE AUTOMATE BOTS ARE RETARDED

I used a knight cube w/ two queens and a bishop, the other guy had a similar setup but with a bunch of bishops, and I lost WITH A 24 POINT DISADVANTAGE THEY STILL HAD A QUEEN AND THREE BISHOPS.

I HAD A PAWN.

LETS CREATE A TOURNAMENT WHERE WE SETUP WITH MAX OF 16PAWNS, SAME 35POINT LIMIT WITH HALF THE BOARD TO USE, AND USE REAL STOCKFISH ONLINE TO PLAY AT GREATER DEPTH AND ACCURACY, SO WE CAN BRING AUTOMATE TO A NEXT LEVEL! BORED OF THE CURRENT MODE COZ OF THE DAMN DRAWS AND DUMB PLAYS

max pawns you can have is 12
