Having said that, I will say this was an amazing game from both of you. Definitely hard fought and congratulations to Tug, our new bulldog WC.
Bulldog Challenge Game (Martin0 - captaintugwash)

59... Kxc4
Why not here 59. ... Rxc4
60. Ka3 and Martin is holding. With Kc4, I stop Martin from being able to play Ka3, since I threaten Rg3+ and then Gb3+, which is crushing.

52... h3
Here you had 52...Rg1+ 53. Ka2 Gb1+ 54. Ka3 Rg3+ 55. Rb3 Gc2 and wins because of the h pawn.
I took a long look at Rg1+ and Gb1+ ideas and couldn't make it work. 55. Rb3 isn't force, instead b3. But I probably did miss a few tactics, I definitely did not play perfectly. But I am obviously delighted with my overall performance. I had to be at my best to beat Martin.

Thank you.

I don't have time for analysis at the moment, but the candidates tournament (2 round tournament) that started about 8 months ago is still in progress, so there was no candidate waiting for this game yet. The final is in progress here:

Understood. I hope you get round to sharing some thoughts, but don't feel obliged.
I am keeping a close eye on the challenger game.

It would seem that Tug is now our #1 player. I'll have to take that spot for myself 😃
I don't think so. Martin is a great deal more consistent than I am. I can't even begin to calculate how many hours of analysis I put into this game, but this is what is needed to beat a player of this calibre.
I think Martin is 3-1 up against me, it could be more. If I beat him next time we play, maybe I'll start to think I'm at his level, rather than just behind. For me, Martin remains the #1 player round these parts. I consider myself #2, but I appreciate you might have something to say about that. I definitely look forward to playing you.
I'm also not going to lie, I was annoyed you were the first to beat Martin. Well done for that.

My calculations state that this is the new top 3 in ratings-
1)@JustARandomPatzer 1773
2)@captaintugwash 1751
3)@Martin0 1733

Martin, I'm not sure why pikachu's eye looks like that, but I couldn't fix it.

Wow, if this is accurate I'll be quite shocked. I mean no way is Martin third, but he has just lost two in a row so I guess it's a fair reflection of the current status, even if it's not a fair reflection of overall skill.
This top three feels upside down to me, I still think top three are 1. Martin, 2. me and 3. Patzer, and of course Marks is capable of breaking into the top three too.
Well you didn't play the move that would've resulted in me offering a draw.
What move would that have been?
