I don't add any pieces. I just extend the board
Just asking, will you add the new file King-side or Queen-side?
Will you add the new rank in Black's or in White's territory?

Wow, I posted this but didn't see it, after 5 refreshes (!) still didn't see it.

Good question! The board changes from an 8x8 chessboard to a 9x9 chessboard. I noticed that I'm a little confusing in the rules explaining extension, so I will get this straight right away. The new file will be in the kingside, and the new rank is in black's territory. Â

That makes it asymmetrical and puts Black and White in very different situations, although I don't know if it would give an advantage to either White or Black

We will find out in the game.

That doesn't explain anything.

Should we make the board become 10x10 after the 5th move? That would make more sense to me.
@NobleElevator and @DukeofHelsinki play in this variant. I changed the rules to make the game more logical.
Time Control- Both players should know by now. Both players have 3 days to make a move, and a timeout warning can be called after 3 days. If a player doesn't respond within 24 hours of a timeout warning, his/her opponent wins on time.
@NobleElevator is white and @DukeofHelsinki is black. Good luck to both player, and thanks for the suggestions @llama47
Rules: Same rules as regular chess, but the board changes every 10 moves. After black plays his 10th move, I will manually add two rank and file to the chessboard (an 8x8 chessboard changes to a 10x10 chessboard, etc.) Pawns promote once they reached the outermost ranks. Castling and en-passant are the same as in regular chess.
Participation: The first two players to sign-up get to play. This is my second chess variant forum where I created the variant myself.
