Chess but the board gets larger

Rules: Same rules as regular chess, but the board changes every 10 moves. After black plays his 10th move, I will manually add two rank and file to the chessboard (an 8x8 chessboard changes to a 10x10 chessboard, etc.) Pawns promote once they reached the outermost ranks. Castling and en-passant are the same as in regular chess.

Participation: The first two players to sign-up get to play. This is my second chess variant forum where I created the variant myself.

also when you extend the board what pieces do you add?

I don't add any pieces. I just extend the board

Good question! The board changes from an 8x8 chessboard to a 9x9 chessboard. I noticed that I'm a little confusing in the rules explaining extension, so I will get this straight right away.  The new file will be in the kingside, and the new rank is in black's territory.

That makes it asymmetrical and puts Black and White in very different situations, although I don't know if it would give an advantage to either White or Black

Should we make the board become 10x10 after the 5th move? That would make more sense to me.

Yes, adding 2 ranks and 2 file to the outer perimeter is logical... but the OP is a dumb kid so we shouldn't mention it. Just let the kids have their fun.
