I resign. You're right that my move 33.G(6,4) was a blunder - basically overlooking 33...R(9,9) which let you get control of the 9th file. Initially I didn't think the damage was too bad, but you continually applied pressure on me, and I've now lost way too much material. No hope for me.

There was no way to save the rook, wherever the king moves the queen can fork king+rook. This game has been hopeless for vick for some time.

Yes, gyrados vs. tug can start in January. The winner of that will be eligible to challenge @Naviary for the World Champion title. (fyi: Naviary is currently on a multi-month chess-hiatus while he is travelling. It's not clear if he will be back if and when he is challenged.)
Also, I'll issue a notice later to see if I can get a 4-player candidates tournament started. The purpose will be to find who next can vie for World Champion status.
