Rules: The rules to how this forum thread works are simple and fairly self-explanatory. I will use the Wheel of Names website on a list of chess variants. The variant where the spinner would ultimately land on will be the variant that gets played. The first two people to comment after the rule change get to join the game. It's as simple as that!
Time Control: The official time control used in all the games is 3 days per move. Once the 3 days run out, I will issue a time warning. You have only 24 hours to make your move once a time warning is issued. If you cannot do this very simple task, you will lose by timeout.
Variants List:
Absorption chess (Pieces gain the abilities of the pieces they capture)
Andernach chess (A piece making a capture changes color)
Atomic chess (Capturing on any square results in an "atomic explosion" which kills all pieces in the eight surrounding squares, except for pawns)
Benedict chess (Instead of capturing by displacement, players may convert an enemy piece they attack to their own color)
Checkless chess (Players are forbidden from giving checks except to checkmate)
Circe chess (Captured pieces are reborn on their starting squares)
Crazyhouse (Captured pieces change color to match the capturing player and can be returned to any unoccupied square on a later turn)
Extinction chess (To win, a player must capture all of any one type of pieces of the opponent)
Guard chess (Allows captures only when a piece is completely unprotected by friendly pieces)
Hierarchical chess (Pieces must be moved in the order: pawn, knight, bishop, rook, queen, king. A player who has the corresponding piece but cannot move it loses)
Kamikaze chess (When capturing, the capturing piece is removed from play also. This also means a king cannot defend itself by capturing an attacker)
King of the Hill (In addition to checkmate, a legal move that moves one's own king to one of the center squares (d4, d5, e4, e5) wins)
Losing chess (Capturing moves are mandatory and the objective is to lose all one's pieces)
No-castling chess (Standard rules except that castling is not allowed, which means king safety is reduced)
Patrol chess (Captures and checks are only possible if the capturing or checking piece is guarded by a friendly piece)
Racing Kings (Players race their kings to the 8th rank. Captures are allowed, but checks or checkmates aren't)
Refusal chess(A played move can be refused by the opponent, forcing the first player to change to another move, which must be accepted)
Stalemate-win chess (Normal chess, but stalemate is considered a win)
Three-check chess(Standard rules of chess apply, but a player can win by putting their opponent in check three times)
EDIT: Round 1 is King of the Hill which means that the game can also end when a player moves their king to one of the four central squares. I will be available tomorrow morning to officiate the game
