Echo Chess is really fun and makes you think hard! It's not too easy, but that's what makes it exciting. Whether you're just learning Chess or you've been playing for years, you'll enjoy figuring out the moves. It's like a brain workout that's addictive and makes you better at understanding how chess pieces move. Definitely worth giving a shot!
Will the daily puzzle get a scoreboard?
Echo Chess: chess variant where you are what you eat

Congrats! Looks polished, especially for a solo project. I would love to be able to tap to select a piece and tap again to move it.

This looks very cool! I like how you implemented a wordle-like feature with the daily puzzles with statistics. Music is top tier as well.
What if the moves, time, tries stats are on the side from the person who invited you. Title it challenger stats ?
so I can see my attempts live against a friend?
Oohh interesting suggestion! You mean like if a friend sent you a link to today's puzzle with their scores, you'd want to see them side by side when solving it to see if you can beat them?

could be a nice idea to have this challenger stats feature. or maybe like a private leaderboard between friends of a certain group? I would love this in our local chess club for friendly competition and to improve. but I personally would not care much for global leaderboards. Unless there is an ELO version of Echo Chess?
This reply feature on chess.com forums sucks. Anyway I was trying to reply to this poster sorry for multiple edits see below@PharmersOnly @cyborgafterall"heard someone in the community compare ZEN mode to a roguelite game of sorts. Not sure if the definition fully applies here, but I think there's definitely something about the combos going up and up, then crashing fully the first time you mess up, like a permadeath."
I disagree 100%. It is not permadeath it is just how combos work. You can also keep playing after the combos zero out. I find it relaxing actually. How is it rogue like?
Also, is anyone else HOOKED on this game? I've literally been seeing the world through an Echochess board over the past 24h. I was walking to my coworker's office this morning and it felt like the corridor almost lit green hahaa!
I Love that there's no undo button! I hate it when puzzle games allow players to undo their steps.
now that's a real hot take right here lmao 👀

...to clarify, I think this is actually a very valid position to take. An undo mechanic can be really bad for a puzzle game if done wrong. That was the first instinct behind not including an undo button by default in echo chess. Curious what the community thinks about that in any case?
I appreciate how the game triggers some of the same thought patterns that we get from solving standard tactical chess puzzles (tracing chains of consequences, calculating the appropriate approach, etc.), but then subverts them utterly. Instead of coming up with repartees to your adversary's best defenses, you feel as if you're an alien blob assimilating each piece, working together towards the goal. The pieces to be eaten are not the soldiers of an opponent; they are merely pieces of you that don't know it yet.
This is either the most glowing review a puzzle game could hope for, or the most interesting description of what it's like to be an alien blob. Whichever it is, thank you @heyitsroman for this humbling review 🙇🏻♂️
