For everyone
Big announcements today for the European Open Antichess Tournament 2022! Please READ CAREFULLY for those interested in attending this live event!
TheAmenCorner and Bloodbow have had a meeting last Sunday as there were several decisions that had to be made. Over time we got feedback and opinions about how to give shape to this antichess event. We have taken all possible information into account and made careful considerations on the various topics regarding the event. In brief I will display all details regarding the event:
- This is an OPEN European event, you can attend this event even if you are from OUTSIDE EUROPE!
- The location for the event is:
SV De Raadsheer
Kattenburgerstraat 150
1018 JH Amsterdam
The Netherlands
(This is a 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station)
- The attendance fee is 20 EURO'S for the whole weekend! We were able to keep it this low as we got the venue, tables, chairs, chessboards practically for free.
- Total players that can attend this event is 80 players!
- The tournament has prize money:
30% of total attendance revenue for 1st place!
20% for 2nd place!
10% for 3rd place!
(Some quick math: with 80 players that means €480 for 1st place)
€320 for 2nd place
€160 for 3rd place
+ YOU WILL GET A CUP FOR ACHIEVING THESE PLACES!
- The best Dutch player will be crowned the National Antichess Champion of the Netherlands and will receive a certificate for this!
- 1st place of the tournament will be crowned the Open European Antichess champion and will receive a certificate for this!
- The tournament has a Swiss set-up, we try to avoid that the same players are paired against each other more than once, so beat them all, and be the best!
- the playtime will be 8+0.
- the remaining attendance fee revenue will be used for acquiring cups and certificates and other costs. As a thanks, the remaining money will go to SV De Raadsheer. As we owe them a huge thanks for lending their facility!
All this info will appear on the www.antichess.org website.
IMPORTANT: to avoid ambiguities. ONLY the info on the www.antichess.org website is leading and can be taken for granted!
The site will be updated in the upcoming week and the info shown in this post will appear on the site as well.
OUR GOAL:
A live event accounts for so much more than just the antichess game! Finally meet your fellow antichess fanatics and enjoy a good talk! Afterwards enjoy the thriving ambiance in the Amsterdam evening streets. Let's make this an event to remember!
Tournament has been accepted by the Dutch Chess Federation.

Dear everyone.
We will organise a date and a venue for the Open European Championships 2022.
The date is June 11 and 12 next year. The venue is ‘’De Raadsheer’’ in Amsterdam:
(google it)
The venue has room for 80 players.
The tourney will determine the European and Dutch champion.
We are still discussing the format, game length and other things that are important.
If you’re interested, please let us know and we will put you on the preliminary list.
At the end of the year, we will ask these players if they can transfer a small fee (for lunch and maybe prizes) within a certain amount of time. If players don’t transfer that amount, we will assume you lost interest and give the spot to another player.
In the meantime, we will focus on all organisational issues and keep you posted on progress and decisions.
‘’who is this we?’’
Richard and André (TheAmenCorner and BLoodbowl on Chess.com) are the organisational committee. We will both not play in the tournament.
Our main goal is to organise this and make sure it will be an unforgettable event.
De Raadsheer is another important partner and we can only organise things with their agreement. We are very grateful we can (apart from Lunch and unforeseen costs) offer everything basically for free.
So, if you are interested or have any other questions, please let me know.
Cheers.
