Event #90 Towards the centre

Pieces on the queenside can move a maximum of 1 square towards the a-file.

Pieces on the kingside can move a maximum of 1 square towards the h-file.

Castling can still be done as normal.

The marked blue squares indicate squares on the queenside. The marked red squares indicate squares on the kingside.

Example 1:

Whites rook is on the queenside and can therefore move a maximum of 1 square towards the a-file. The rook can not move to a3 or b3.

Blacks bishop is on the kingside and can therefore move a maximum of 1 square towards the h-file. The bishop can not move to g4, g8 or h3.

Example 2:

Whites knight is on the kingside and can therefore move a maximum of 1 square towards the h-file. The knight can not move to h2 or h4.

Blacks queen is on the queenside and can therefore move a maximum of 1 square towards the a-file. The queen can not move to a3, a5 or a7.

Special Example:

With the Nightrider event whites knight can still not move to b2, b4 or b7.
