We're in for it now!  Both barrels coming into play.

It's hot as hades here in NJ, just failed on the Daily Puzzle, birds distracting me outside, here in the morning, and one bird just won't shut up…

Oh!  That's not a bird… it's my refrigerator freezer-warm alarm going off… sounds just like a Cardinal bird.  Run downstairs, press the Alarm Off keypad, run back upstairs.

Is that the alarm again?  No, it's a Cardinal outside, curious about a refrigerator mate!  (even went to the center hallway to listen better, yup… Cardinal outside… slightly sporadic, not even like the earlier alarm…

Wonder what the random selected Event will be.  Will know soon enough.

Greetings, Martin0…

Martin, need clarification on…

Event #37 Queenbuilder

As a move a bishop can move on top of an allied rook with its normal movement. Only 1 bishop can stand on top of 1 rook.

Why was this pointed out? (highlighted sentence (by me))  To prevent the possibility of 2 Bishops standing on top of 1 Rook?  To prevent one side from having 2 Queens built at the same time?

Bob

Martin0

It just means 2 bishops can not stand on top of 1 rook.

Both players can have 2 queens built.

Martin, let me get clarification on analysis by The World.

Is it OK for The World to present ideas for discussion whereby members of The World show "what if" possibilities that could result if (for example) this move were followed by that move, and then this happened, etc., etc. such that The World would be looking at likely positions many moves down the line?  In essence this amounts to the equivalent of "over the board" touching of pieces, and the actual moving of pieces to see "what if" positions that could result.

The World would not be using "computer engines" but would be using  "human being" generated board-diagrams typical of variation analysis one might see on many games discussed elsewhere throughout Chess dot com.

Is this sort of analysis completely acceptable?

Bob

Martin0

Are you asking if it is ok to post analysis with diagrams?

That is allowed, yes.

landontu

I'm sure Martin0 does the same

Chess_Pro2

I assume it's also ok to use analysis boards (so you don't have to calculate the moves in your head), like it is in regular daily chess, right?

Martin0

Yes, I am using an analysis board and that is allowed.

I wish, I should have seen that tactic.

I might have enough compensation to not immediately resign though.

I only have to take something if a pawn is hanging.
