Just normal chess, but with a small twist. No checks. You can only win by taking the other person's king. Checkmate such as laddermate is not possible, but you can miss your king being looked at, think if it as plundering your queen. So just no checks and you have to take your opponents king instead, all other rules are normal.

I think this is a cool idea, but laddermate would still be possible.
