Hi there Chess.com folks,

Please advise.

I would like to practice some particular openings and variations playing against a bot on the website - does such an option exist?

If not, do you know any other sites or tools one could use for such a training?

Thanks,

Tom

If you go to learn, openings, choose an opening, then practice against the computer.

That's the thing - I want to practive the Vienna Gambit but the computer can play something else, you see my point?

My question was if it's possible to set the variation up into the computer so that it doesn't give me Sicilian or Petrov but the one I want to practice.

Cheers.

You can set up any position in analysis and then click the "practice with computer" button under the notation box. There's also an option to change to any bot you want at any point so you're not stuck playing just the strongest Komodo bot.

Go to: play bots - custom settings - type - custom position. This should allow you to play any opening against any bot on the site (at least on Android). Also, Wendy, the 1500 rated free bot, will almost always play Vienna Gambit Declined with d5, in case that helps at all.
