So, I had an idea of a new game mode and searched in the forums to see if anyone had already suggested it. I ended up in a 2015 post of someone nicknamed "GalaxKing" asking if a random opening game mode has ever been used in tournaments. I would like to expand on this idea and talk about a possibility of what that "new game mode" would look like and see if it would be of interest of chess.com to actually make use of it. It would work like this: you would simply select the random opening game mode and it would instantly put you into the tabiya position of any categorized opening variation against a random player. For instance, the English Attack Najdorf Sicilian or the Caro-Kann Advance Variation. This would help experienced players to train in varied types of matches and would also help beginners to find openings they like and identify with. I think it would be a great idea and would love to read your opinions about it.
