Smorgasboard Chess

Hi! I've recently concocted a variant of chess I like to call Smorgasboard Chess (misspelling intentional). It uses the same board and pieces as regular chess, with 40 cards to show piece movements.

The setup is the same as regular chess, except you also have to draw until you have a card for each piece (excluding king and pawn here since I couldn't come up with 10 pawn variants) and set those aside to be guides on how their pieces work. (If you flip up multiple pieces of the same type, discard the new one.) Gameplay is like chess, except each piece now moves like it says on its respective card! After each game, the winner draws three cards and chooses one card to keep. That card replaces whichever piece type it is.

Anyways, here are all the pieces. I tried to make them balanced, but they're probably not haha. Feedback greatly appreciated!

Oh, it seems like I can't post pictures, sorry.

I would say that if you assign another rule to an existing piece, you're basically playing with a new piece and trying to use the existing piece name for it. I just don't see the point in doing that.

You do have new names for the pieces, just using the same physical piece so you don't have to have 40 pieces.
