FWIW, if you analyze an Automate game / position (one you couldn't get in a standard game) on Lichess then the analysis engine automatically switches from Stockfish 13+NNUE to Stockfish 11+HCE.

I see that the Automate variant uses stockfish engine to simulate the game ( Ref: Welcome to Automate, where you and your opponent both set up your pieces and then watch as the computer (Stockfish depth=18) plays the best moves to the end! ). But the standard version of stockfish does not handle all the positions that Automate variant can reach. For example, the automate variant can have 10 pawns. However, the standard stockfish fails to analyze the position with 10 pawns and discards it as an illegal position. Is there a modified variant of stockfish that is being used for Automate Chess?
If yes what modifications and is it possible to get any binaries for the same? Any help is appreciated.
