The king is on j7 in that diagram. Right?

ArchbishopCheckmate

Was this you?

ArchbishopCheckmate

Is this your game?

shogi

Shoot, I can't seem to watch the movies on my tablet. Will have to try from PC later.

ArchbishopCheckmate

It double posted for some reason.

shogi

Yes, that was my game as Black vs. KlingonBorgTatar.

ArchbishopCheckmate

Would j6 have mated too instead of h6 at the end?

shogi

Yes.  Either way it's a "Goliath" mate.  Not sure which one has more style points.  :-)

ArchbishopCheckmate

This game has the sneakiest trap ever set by a player with the black pieces. White is allowed to capture 2 pieces in a row, one with check even, all to set up a queen sacrifice for a stunning checkmate with the Archbishop and Chancellor.

ArchbishopCheckmate

Merry Christmas chess.com people. Hopefully you all got checkers sets  under your tree this year.

shogi

Merry Christmas all!  Now that you mention it, I would like an International Checkers set and board someday.  :-)

Getting wood going correctly usually costs *lots* of money.  Wait, that didn't sound right at all...  ;-)

ArchbishopCheckmate

Ed always hires the best of the best.
