I know chess.com is a "serious" chess site, but is there any way to play "bughouse" games as a chess variant here?

I think you should ask the president or whatever of chess.com. I also want there to be bughouse.

If you do not find bughouse here you can always try freechess.org - it offers bughouse for sure (there are some very strong players who only registered there to play bughouse)

What is bughouse chess? I have never heard of it before.

yeah, that would be great. FreeChess is awful. You have nothing but spammers and losers talking nonsense.

It goes to show that sometimes going the free route is the worst possible option.

From Wikipedia: Bughouse chess is a popular chess variant played on two chessboards by four players in teams of two. Normal chess rules apply, except that captured pieces on one board are passed on to the players of the other board, who then have the option of putting these pieces on their board.

For more details you can check out the full "Bughouse chess" page on Wikipedia.
