I'm torn. On the one hand, I want Martin to lose a game. On the other, I don't want ry to replace me as the "next best".

I hope you both make lots of mistakes!

HolographWars

I hope this game ends "peacefully", since then Martin's perfect record would be impacted and ry would not go up that much.

These days, I have played too many drawmongerers and too many positional games these days. I am a better Tactican, and I like playing those positions simply because they give both sides lots of winning chances. A lot of my positional games end in draws, though occasionally I can grind out the win with some help from my opponent. In a tactical position, however, I need just one error from my opponent to collect the full point. Of course that applies to me also, but I like tactical games better since that gives me more decisive games. I am happy when I win and can learn when I lose, but drawing a game that was totally level the whole game is worthless.

Since when is the word "grinding" used in chess? I've seen it used for freestyle sports, but not chess. Anyway, good luck to Martin0 and rychessmater1. This is gonna be good!

Yes, it is probably best for us mortals to observe a hard-fought, positional draw.

If anyone can beat Martin... it’s ry. Good luck!

Which makes me Bobby Fischer and you Caruana ... if Bobby Fischer had lost.

So, if ry wins, Fabi loses?  Or is going to be accurate this time?

hitthepin

🤷‍♂️

HolographWars

Norway, Sweden? Same thing.

("Geography Bee self getting angry for sending this")

Martin0

Yes, I played a different move, but it is not like the structure is different.
