Bulldog Chess with Witch (captaintugwash - JohnHS)

King always moves two. I knew there was some trick to that pawn ... what an awful blunder. How did I not see that?

Castling:
The rules of castling are similar as in classical chess, however, with the board 10 squares wide, the king travels three squares rather than two. The rook finishes adjacent to the king. All squares between the king and the involved rook must be unoccupied, with the exception of the witch and pieces made transparent by the witch.

I nearly missed it, I was desperate to get my king moved out of your queen's xray, but it took me a while to accept castling as a safe method of doing so. I still don't like my position all that much, but it's better now I have a bishop, since I can afford to give up material to fix my weaknesses. I didn't open well here at all, I think I've merely equalised with your error rather than taken the lead.

I wish my rook was on e1.
I'm gonna wait for you to fix the board, I just wasted a few minutes mentally analysing Nxe5 thinking my rook was on e1.

Lol... still getting the hang of the witch, aren't we, @CaptainTugwash?
Yeah I was one move from checkmate, and I nearly didn't notice.

I was really hoping you weren't ... honestly though, I think you are winning here. But we'll see. I've been down a clear witch before and won anyway.
Anyway, I'll fix the castle.

"I've been down a clear witch before and won anyway."
I'm impressed. I have no idea how much the witch is worth, but I can say I certainly had a think about capturing your witch with the queen when I had the chance. I decided the witch isn't quite that valuable, but would I give a rook up? That would require a longer think.
I believe the king should be on c1 and the rook d1
