Other options were losing your queen, or losing knight+guard, so I wouldn't worry about blundering into checkmate. You just saved time.

 ry, feel free to share what you saw, but considering the line I took went on to win at least knight+guard, it needs to be good!

I did take a look at that line but couldn't see how I could force mate. I could probably still win the knight, but I've given up the hawk for guard so it's not like a crushing blow like the line I took.

The problem is that the queen and rook between them can't checkmate the king so easily as they can on a limited board. That hawk was extremely strong, I don't want to give it up unless I have a clear path to victory.

HxP did look promising. I spent a reasonable amount of time trying to make it work, but ultimately I didn't think it was as good as the move I played.

I'm ready to play you ry as soon as we can get a mod. Vick, are you able to add another game of infinite to your mods?

This game (Tomato vs. Tug) was to decide the next challenger to the WC. And the current WC is @Naviary. (Naviary won against the first WC, who was @SuperSam1, of which SuperSam1 became the first-ever WC when he won against me in the first championship tournament).

I still have to go to Naviary/SuperSam! to give Naviary his medal - I'm so late!😥

So before Tug starts a game, we need to ask if he is interested in playing against Naviary for the title.

So maybe Ry should probably play someone else. I'd like to play against Ry, unless there is someone else that deserves the game first.

My schedule is getting back to normal, so I hope I can mod at least one of the games.

But first, are we going to have "captaintugwash vs. Naviary", to see if Naviary's WC title can be taken away?😃

I definitely want to play nav for the title, but I did promise ry a game of infinite. I guess I can let him down if nav is ready, Perhaps ry should be the first to challenge me if I beat nav? And if I lose to nav, I'll still play ry if he wants. Is that ok ry?

Or if ry can find a different mod, I'll play both at the same time, seeing as I don't have any current bulldog games and only have one due to start... but a friendly with ry would be my lowest priority game, so I might not be up to standard, depending on time. I'm ok taking on two infinite games if my workload isn't too high.

I'm not sure when my game with martin starts, but that's gotta be soon I'd have thought.

I haven't seen Naviary here, but Tug will play against WC Naviary, in a title game.

In the world of bulldog, captaintugwash is still to play against Martin0 for the Championship game of the Superdog tournament. I promise to start that game by this Thursday at the latest.

Just to let everyone know (posting randomly on this thread) my dad passed away about two weeks ago, and the funeral will be this Saturday. It's making me really busy, and there will be many friends and family visiting the next several days. For this reason, I will probably be posting and playing games more slowly than normal (which was already slow due to travel).

The Championship game of the Superdog tournament will start tomorrow (August 15 late, or August 16 early). Sorry for the delay.😴

In the Superdog semi-finals, both Martin and Tug won as White, and in the quarter-finals both won as Black. Instead if looking at round-1, I will give White to captaintugwash only because he won the Semi-final game sooner (June 1, rather than June 19). This also provides Martin the opportunity to play from Black, where normally he has been taking White when defending his crown.
