Correspondence Chess Rules for Variant-Chess

"Maybe 15 days per 40 moves"
This seems reasonable. If people need longer, perhaps they shouldn't start games. I would prefer to allow opponents the option to not enforce vacation time controls though, so if two players are in agreement then longer can be taken. The 15 days per 40 moves should be a rule in the event of no agreement between players, imo.

And I guess if people aren't posting move numbers, then that's on the mod of the game in question to go through the game to figure out where we're at.

I agree allowing more vacation time (both Junybug and Martin0 have mentioned it). But I prefer it should be controlled by number of moves*. Maybe 15 days per 40 moves, but vacation time is only deducted when actually used.
(* unfortunately some people don't keep track of move numbers so might be a problem?)
Example: player requests vacation. He plays a move 5 days later (2 days late), so 2 days of vacation are used, and he still has 8 left to used. After every 40 moves (40, 80, 120, etc.) both players get vacation time refreshed.
Also, if we change the rule, is it effective immediately, or only for new games (something to think about)?
That sounds good, Vick, but would the move count only occur in one game or all of the games the infividual is currently playing? If we are basing it on all of his current games, it would be very tedious to count 40 moves. We could give each player the task of keeping track of their own vacation time, though, since as people have stated earlier, I don’t see this community as those who would abuse vacation time.

Players would get vacation time for every game. Counting moves is barely even a task if players post their move numbers (something I always do).
I think it's good practice to show move numbers when playing a game, so if someone requests vacation then the moves will have to be put into pgn notation, if they weren't already.
Also, to make sure rules are clear, vacation time can be called anytime (even after a time-warning). This gives the most latitude for anyone who has an emergency (sickness, family crisis, etc). You just can't call for a vacation if you already lost on-time (even if you have vacation days).
(objections or comments)?

Oh, and if you buy a premium membership, which is 1000$ shipped to me, you get increased vacation time and automatic vacation when you're about to lose on time!

Example b; he is winning a game and plays a bad move. He is upset and goes on vacation but moves on to another game and plays a move. See? I think it should not be based on how many moves. But rather a time based system. Like you start with one month of vacation, but earn 7 days of vacation a month. With a maximum of 3 months of vacation. This way there is no way that you can just play in other games and not a select few. However, this is only an idea, or some advice. Simply a suggestion.
Thoughts?

I think that the extra 15 days it takes won't really matter much in the long run because of how long the games already take.
