Yes, you did have to drop it ...
I didn't think of that. Either the moves since then have been illegal, or your bishop is dead ... what do you think?

I forgave your time violations, I was wondering if you could forgive my drop rule violation.
If you are willing to forgive, I am asking that the diagram be reset to move 9 with White to move.
If you are unwilling to forgive, I will accept your decision without complaint or bitterness.
Thank you, Be3
You can certainly take those moves back.
But in other cases, what do you think? Are those moves illegal and must be taken back, or do you lose the piece?
You mean B@e3?
Thank you for the reset to move 9 with white to move.
In the future I think the rule should be that whoever captures his own chess piece (or pawn), and fails to drop it in the next two moves when legally possible, loses the piece (or pawn).
I don't think that a player should be made to drop because it might be in the players' interest not to do so.
Be3 = BISHOP_e3 = A Bishop already residing on e3, OR, A Bishop move to e3.
In post #45 it was simply a signature.
10. ... ixh6 Sound odds when you say it out loud. "Bishop captures h-six". "No, ah captures aitch six" () depending on your accent.
Hey bishop! Would U like 2 join the bulldog tourney? Go to https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess960-chess-variants/looking-for-opponents-games?page=17
and send a message that you would like to join if you want to. We could use some more players and you seem like a variant player 2 more slots open
Good idea, Tomato. Bishop, you should join. It's a good tournament, though I got eliminated already.

Must you beat me at my own game? My position is awful.
I have a rule inquiry. After I played 7) Hxg2, I had to drop the Bishop on move 8 or 9 correct? If that is true, then I have forfeited my right to drop the Bishop--Correct?
