So much material down .. shall I resign or shall I ask my kinfolk to play on for a couple of generations? (A joke they made about some larger shogi variant by the way.)
Whether you resign or not is up to you. It's completely in your right to keep playing. You recently outmaneuvered me in Builder Chess so it would only mean were even in our last two games. Regardless, I think the idea of knight "formations" is an awesome chess variant idea.
One idea is maybe in a future game let them have a little more power - possibly allowing them to capture two in one move for example?

Thanks EvertVB. The formation concept is an excellent rule changes in chess (for big boards obviously). I need to scale down the number of games I'm playing, but if I do play it again, do you mind if I call it "Formation Chess - The Battle of Kadesh"? The Battle of Kadesh was a real battle between huge armies of chariots. It will give this game a real-world theme to draw upon, similar to what LEBisho has done with "The Siege of Dros Delnoch" (except that Kadesh was a real-world battle).

I'd like to see this game played again. If there's anyone who wants to play I can mod. If no takers, maybe I'll play (starting in a few days).
