I was curious and tried playing 960 vs. computer. now I want to play standard games again. I can't find that screen where one can choose between 960 and standard starting positions. ALL games vs. computer start as 960. how do I get to old gold mode?

In Fritz there's a button New Game and below it a small arrow, clicking on that will show the options. But then, I don't know if your program is Fritz.

I figured it out! go to "computer" menu, switch both players to human, as if you want to play with a friend sitting next to you. then the options standard and 960 will appear
