Hello everyone, i have been reading through a few of these threads and following the games, i am a big abstract fan and enjoy chess variants and have been looking all over for different games. It seems a shame its a bit quiet here but still great to see like minded people.

I have found some very unique chess variants that go so far away from chess itself and then some like Musketeer chess that aim to keep more true and add piece changes.

I have theorised a couple concepts in my head, i am wondering how people go about testing there chess variant ideas? As it seems to truly test would require so many games by various levels of players.

Also if anybody would like to discuss and check out abstract games and chess variants in general if its ok by the Mods here i would like to advertise my recently created group of Facebook. It is none profit, just to get a community of designers and players together to talk about this more niche area of boardgaming in general.

.. I wonder, how long it would take, "Alpha-Zero," to become a world-beater, at 'S-Chess', or 'Seirawan'-chess ; As featured, on "YouTube."!? ..{rhetorical}.

.. It almost seems, as if, the 'world', {if-you-will}.. gave that variant, its' virtual, 65 seconds of exposure ; Saying : 'Oh, that's nice'; And then moved on, resuming, conventional chess ; Still, angst- stricken, as ever .. by its' played out, 'been-there'/ Done-that, dilemma !?

May I also suggest publishing your ideas/playing some games on this site: https://chessvariantforum.createaforum.com

This is a newly-formed community, it contains many members who frequently post here but has also caught the attention of chess variant ‘bigwigs’ like Jean-Louis Cazeaux, Ed Trice, Rick Knowlton, etc..

It also has a forum dedicated to playing correspondence games, putting links here is easy and keeps this forum clean.
