I'm up to it. Tried to find a hexagonal chess board but could not so far. Looks like the easiest way to make it is to order a PDF print on a hexagonal-shaped piece of wood. Cheers!

In the exquisite and great variathorium of the universe of chess there are some whose boards are not completely conventional.
Triangular, hexagonal and masonic boards are some of the surprises that the scacchium offers us.
But why do not we go further? Why not create variants of chess played on boards with tessellations of different figures?, or even pentagonal, of hyperbolic geometry?
And why do not we go even further ?, what about creating three-dimensional (or beyond) boards that are not based on cubes as they are typically, but in other figures as rhombidodecahedrons?
In this topic I would like to explore all these possibilities with you and encourage the creation of this type of variants in the forum.
Let's create chess variants with unusual boards.
