Please correct your Shredder-FEN codes as indicated above. 😎

scooter_de

I haven't used Shredder. Is it any good?

Anyway, where can I find an online definition for this special FEN syntax? I used what I found on Wikipedia.

Stockfish inderstands Shredder-FENs. Otherwise, U should put it like that:

bbnnqrkr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/BBNNQRKR w KQkq - 0 1

i.e. U should specify "KQkq" in order to allow castlings! blitzpeshka

That has already been changed. The new list will have this.

Great news! 👍

Is it possible to put Fischer's positions in lexicographical order?

@65

"Is it possible to put Fischer's positions in lexicographical order?"
++ Why lexicographical? They are numbered 1 to 960.

That's my mathematical preference. 😎 It's also useful in opening theory, for example, U can study all BB-positions simultaneously (to a certain extent). Almost all BB-positions have the same popular opening, that I call Double English Stairway. peshka

You guys can go nuts with the list. Best 1st moves in Chess960

Let me know, what you're going to do with it.

@tygxc: It's a text file. Just load it into your favourite editor and sort it. You can also use a command line tool like _sort_ :-).

I guess we can write a book openingswink, but more evaluations are necessary. peshka

Do U have time to evaluate King's Pawn Game (KPG) and Queen's Pawn Game (QPG) in all Fischer's positions?

N.B. King's Pawn Game depends on king's position. For example, if the white king is on b1, it will be 1. b4 b5. blitz(the same thing concerns QPG)

scooter_de

I don't have time - but my computer might :-).

What exact positions do you want to evaluate?

LoL 🤣

First things to evaluate: 😎

  • KPG and QPG or, alternatively, 1. b4 b5, 1. c4 c5, 1. d4 d5, 1. e4 e5, 1. f4 f5 and 1. g4 g5
  • All Two and Four Knights games (without or with pawn moves as above)
