I wanted to free my queen, first and foremost. The square in front of the Kings in this configuration is highly vulnerable, with the two Rooks unable to help defend. I wanted to try and attack that point. When the pawn exchange worke dout like it did, I saw the chance to pin that pawn if I moved over the Queen. That's, why I scd'd the Rook to preserve that position and the 'sword of Damacles' hanging over the opponent's head.
