Hmm, in the first variant there are only black-squared bishops which, in addition, can eat each other in the initial position, so not good. The second variant is not fully symmetrical.

Bishops can't eat eachother unless they are cannibal bishops, which is a great idea for a new chess variant.

Hahaha LoLLaughing ... in Russian, we usually say "one figure eats an other".Wink

So cannibal chess has already been embraced in Russia and Russia is good at chess. I sense that my variant cannibal chess has been successful Wink

Like Russia Wink. If you didn't realise, this is a joke thread

LoL yeah, I didn't realize that's entirely joking, only partially.Wink

Russian chess figures are actually omnivorousLaughing ; bishops are called elefants and knights are called horses. So, I guess, it's supposed to ressemble an Indian army at the epoch of Alexander the Great. Or, maybe, the army of Hannibal ... which shouldn't be confounded with Cannibal.Wink

Quite frankly gambit13 is a comedic genius and should be praised as such

LOL. Well I have learnt something new today. Is the army of Hannibal a cannibal army? Wink Or is the name similarity purely coincidental?

The second one is pure genius, the first is a wonderfully creative idea. Chess.com should have real-time chess where you can set up your own start position. (assuming your opponent agrees, of course.)

I just recently published a short fantasy story on the Amazon Kindle featuring a number of new chess variants that I developed:

"The Amnesiac's Quest" (available on the Amazon Kindle for 99 cents)

Here are some of the variants portrayed in the story:

Promotion Chess

Attrition Chess

Melee Chess ("Chesskers")

Diamond Chess

Parasite Chess

Most of these variants would be challenging to play unless one had multiple identical chess sets, since they use more than the standard number of each type of piece.  This is because in many of these variants, each piece has the ability to change its rank to become another type of piece based on what it does in the game.

While trying to play these variants, I realized that I had to make my own chess set that would allow me to quickly transform one piece into another.  The result?

Chess Cubes! (available on Etsy.com)

I've made a few sets of Chess Cubes, and they're available for sale on Etsy in two varieties: "Psychedelic", and "Coal and Marshmallows".

If you are interested in trying out the variants from the story, then my hand-crafted custom-made chess set is the perfect way to do it.

I actually play the London setup of Diamond Chess in a Diamond Chess board, but the chess board is normal:

It is missing a pawn, so it won't be unsymmetrical.

There goes black to be first, rooks don't capture the rooks. In diamond, they can be confirmed not safe.

Also, there are 2 passed pawns only that it can move 1 square forward. Well, pawns can be on the first rank. If it reaches the 2nd rank, could it also move 2 squares forward? The passed pawns are in the same diagonally, so black would have an advantage unless it gets captured. Since I play it in a Diamond angle, it is called, Diamond Chess.

1. Castling is not allowed.

2. I don't think if En Passant is allowed, maybe not?

Please make chess 3.o a chess variant🥺.

Teacher-moves like a dabbaba and ferz and captures like a camel. Place-pawn.

Cow-moves like a camel and a .

Pig-moves like a knight and a tripper. Place-bishop.

Surgeon-moves like a dabbaba and a ferz. Place-rook.

Drone-moves like a ferz and a camel. Place-queen.

Pumpkin-moves like a ferz and a half dabbaba. Place-king.

Building-moves like a king and vertically. Place-bishop.

Road-moves like a half bishop and horizontally. Place-knight.

Snail shell-moves like a wazir and captures like a ferz. Place-king and queen.

There are 2 boards. The building, road and snail shell are on the second board. The other pieces are on the first board. The pieces on the first board can go to the second board and the pieces on the second board can go to the first board. In the second board there are dead pawns in the middle of the board. The snail shell cannot be captured, the piece that try to capture it bounce to the end of the board and be captured. If there are pieces in between the bounce they will be captured even if it's an enemy or an ally. If there are 3 or more pieces, the bouncing piece will stop when it captures the third piece and the bouncing piece will not be captured, but if it hits the end of the board while capturing the third piece, it will still be captured.Castling and en passant is not allowed. You can move a piece on any board anytime you want.
