New chess variant. Looking for players to play with.

Is there any list of piece values for this variant?

OK, I guess there is a bit of confusion here, because WinBoard internally counts the pieces starting from 0 (= white Pawn). And I used the internal number in the image filename. So when you want to define 'piece 22' with a piece22_49o/s/w.bmp file, it actually corresponds to the 23rd character in the string.

You now put the X before L, so the X is assigned as ID to the image that before was assigned to L, (namely Lion), and the L gets assigned to the next image.

All my yellow dots to show moves are gone as well. Even the arrow after you move. I am so confused.....

found how to get my pic to work. No Idea why I have to do this. My convertor must be messed up.
If I take the gambit.bmt from the game then copy/paste my pic over it. Then save. I can get it to appear with name 22 after the L.(not before tho, still make it the lion.) it's adding 22 before the king for me. I did it tho there is the graphic below. I just need to figure out why all my yellow move dots are gone. Because they are very important to me.

There is indeed something wrong with your pics. When I look at the exact size through 'Properties', ALL my 49x49 bitmaps are 454 bytes. Yours are 538.

When I open them with MS Paint, and save them again with 'Save As', they do revert to 454 bytes. And then they work.

I added these so far. This is not too bad. I'll make at least 30 of these. Can you fix my yellow/red dot issue by any chance? Also haven't checked yet, but this new winbord is still 16x16 max right? What do I need to open and change to up it to 32x16 max? At that point I can make anything I can dream of. The only other thing I could ever want is more control over how forced promotions work. I can live without that tho.

To alter the images before Lion you have to use the names, rather than pieceN_ prefixes. That is, the names that they have in my source repository. Like a49o/s/w.bmp if you want to replace the image that is in those files.

That's fine. I can add an inf. amount after. Then use "." for ones not being used like before. Tried useing ! and ' to get pass the 26 letter limit. It did not understand and could not generate it. So That and board size are my only limitations.

Do you know why my move yellow & red dots are gone? I don't even have to use my extra pieces or edit my custom.dat. just use the new winboard. That alone makes them dissapper. Yet my old one, that show move hightlights, will not load the graphics. So trying to find out why, the new one does not show move hightlights. I can't find an option for it. Though it might be just turned of.

Going to try doing it with -pid FOLDERNAME in advanced options on the first winboard. See if I get my graphics load. Because I can't figure out how to get my dots back with the new one.

So I have to use to new winboard to add the graphics. I have opened and copyed every single option, from every single window in the old winboard to the new one. Yet still the new one has no highlights for the moves.... Say they should be there in view->color... They have the colors pick, yet they do not show. I can not figure it out, it's driving me insane.....

Did you replace the old winboard.exe with the new one?

Normally move highlighting is a persistent option. You can switch it on or off with the option -showTargetSquares true (or false). Just type that in the Startup Dialog.

no the old one is in C:\WinBoard-4.8.0\WinBoard

the new one is on my desktop.  Will test now.

I put -showTargetSquares true in the additional options. It worked, my dots are back. Thank you.

Back to drawing more icons. Do you want this for your winboard 4.9? I can try to make other sizes too, if you need them. Not sure if they will look as good tho. Yet if you'd like them. I will make them for you. 

The last thing I was wondering. Is how and what do I open and change, to up my max board size? You made it sound easy on the pages prior.

here is all I have done so far. About done unless there are requeasts. Stopping at 52 with whats in game.
