Nightrider chess

A nightrider is one of the most popular fairy chess pieces.
But for the past 50 years I have only seen very little about it in gameplay.

Do you know about such games?

Do you know of a program (easy to use and a nice interface) that can play this variant?

Read below if you want to know a little more about it.

See the very short example of a game near the bottom:

D=Queen
T=Rook
L=Bishop
S=Nightrider

Here are two games (in english notation) where my engine played postal games against a human.

How delightful to see that KayNight was, until now, the most previous to respond to the thread. ^-^

lol The real reason why I rehashed this thread -

I found this piece kind of interesting but wondered: how exactly does it come to appear on the board? Do we start with Knightriders as a substitute for the Knights at the beginning? Do we switch in a Knightrider?

Wish there was an explanation on the wikipedia page.

Usually Nightrider Chess is played by replacing Knights by Nightriders in the FIDE setup. There are some engines that play it that way (e.g. Dababba). There are several variants with Knights that are augmented somehow, e.g. by adding the moves of Ferz or Wazir to them.

The KnightRider on greenchess.net allows the KnightRider to hop to move multiple times in the same direction...The strength of the KnightRider is about similar to a Rook, better than the Rook in the opening but In most endgames with open lines the Rook is slightly better.

It's value is similar to a Rook it's better in the opening but the Room is more powerful in most endgames with open lines
