Hi i have recently started a game of chess960 can anyone explain me the difference between chess960 and standard chess and also the rule so chess960 and also the types of openings that we have.

Goddric

In chess the pieces are placed in standar positions.

In chess960 the pieces are placed in random positions. There are 960 possible positions that is why it is called chess960.

There are no openings in chess960 and that was the purpose of Fischer who invent it.Imagine if you had to study openings for 960 different starting positions!!!!!!It's a game of chess where it's you against your opponent from the first move.No opening theory , no databases.

The rules are the same but for the begginers castling might be consfusing

With Chess 960 it's like changing the Constitution of the United States. With an entirely new Constitution, there are no legal precedents, no case law, no stari decisis by which incoming cases are to be governed by.  It's all new, new legal constructs, legal interpretations, understandings, etcetera.  Thanks to Bobby Fisher's innovative thinking, but I don't think his idea will ever garner popular support.

Besides, with the advent of modern computers, sooner or later, openings under chess 960 would have been deciphered as well to where  players woud have ready memorized moves for every opening where pieces are arranged differently.
