Pacifist chess improvements

Some have pointed out Pacifist chess 1.0 was not very pacifist so I now present you Pacifist chess 2.0. Replace rooks with dames, knights with bishops. Further--pawns can only promote to bishops or dames and nothing (not even pawns) can be captured. All other rules of chess apply.

The thing is, once hte pawn structure gets locked up it's just a draw. Perhaps remove a few of the pawns?

AutisticCath

Good suggestion. We'll have to work on a version 3.0.

But isn't that part of what makes it pacifist?

Yes, but who wants BOOOORRRRRRIIINNNNGGGG DRAWS?

Actually, I've got an idea for version 3.0--the side who marches all their pawns to the end of the board wins!

This therefore improves on 1.0 and 2.0.

Fiveofswords,

I think you missed the part that some pawns will be removed in version 3.0. Each side will therefore have 4 pawns. How these pawns will be positioned at the start I am still brainstorming.

Bishops and ladies sneaking around trying to destroy each other without actually directly killing anyone - this still isn't pacifist, sounds more like medieval politics.

But they sing Christmas carols! Oh well...back to the drawing board...

Would it still qualify as pacifist chess if pieces are allowed to somehow be pushed away instead of captured?
