My game against Ry is complete (here), in a game where Ry just seemed to walk away randomly. (Ry is focusing on "OTB"?).
Also Tomato seems to have disappeared. Should we find the "next best" player to go against Gyrados? I haven't put too much thought into it, but if there is no one qualified, then Gyrados would advance without a game. So I would play him, and the winner plays Tug.
Last call... Tomato, are you anywhere? Or anyone to take his place??

Are there any four players who would like to play "Chess on an Infinite Plane" in a tournament? It would be two games in round-1, and then the Final. This will be a "candidates tournament" which means the winner will be able to challenge the World Champion (currently @Naviary, but not sure who will have WC title at the completion of this tournament).

@captaintugwash and @gyrados are currently playing in a game which will decide who next challenges the current World Champion Naviary.
Notes:
(1) If more than four players request to join preference will be given to those with more games (experience) and more wins.
(2) Tug and gyrados are eligible to join the tournament, but if either of them are the future World Champion, then the challenge game goes to the tournament runner-up.
(3) A player cannot challenge the World Champion two times consecutivelly. So in that situation the challenge game also goes to the tournament runner-up.
(4) The World Champion is currently Naviary. (He is currently on a chess hiatus, but I think he will return to playing in 2021).
I'm in the tournament, anyone else? I can mod the games, but tournament won't start till a few weeks (after the players are decided).

Yes you can join. I'm letting anyone join so anyone who wants to challenge the World Champion has a chance to qualify. But if the winner is also the WC then the WC keeps his title. (we can start a new tournament at that time).
Also a player cannot challenge the WC two times consecutivelly. So in that case the runner-up (2nd place) challenges the WC.
ChessNerd1836 also said he would like to play and we might get more players so I might change the format.
