Greetings Chess People,

I'm a chess coach, organizer, and TD based in San Angelo, TX. I run in-person and online events of all kinds through my USCF Affiliate "Concho Chess Academy" and here on chess.com. Over the past two years I taught classes to K-12th graders and students of all ages, even retirees. There are so many experts out there that I think the beginner and intermediate players can get left behind in a sea of confusing analysis and 400-year old theoretical moves. My goal is get folks comfortable with their openings and confident enough to attend rated tournaments. We've succeeded in signing up over 100 new players for the USCF in the last year and we show no signs of stopping. Our online presence is growing steadily and I'd like to invite y'all to join us for some chess!

Concho Chess Academy hosts a tournament on chess.com every Tuesday at 7pm CT. I make video breakdowns of select games from our tournaments and put them on Youtube. We also stream some of our events from time to time.

We are a very close group and most of us see each other around town during the week. You'll find that we are a great environment for casual players and learners trying to improve. 

I also provide private lessons, but this isn't the focus of this post. Reach out if you're interested in affordable lessons, but first and foremost I want more people to play chess in our community and online.
