Mentor-Mentee program 2.0

R2GM was once famous for it's "Mentor-Mentee" program. However, during 2021 it was halted due to administration not having the ability to run it properly. But that is all over!

Welcome back Mentors and Mentees!

Mentor-Mentee program 2.0

Seasons are two month in length, beginning with a fifteen day signup and then the rest of the month and a half is the training portion.

The ultimate goal of the MM program is to raise members' rating by giving them a willing mentor that is typically 4-500 rating higher. These two will spend a month and a half together trying to raise specifically the mentee's rating. This feature to the chess.com world will hopefully be a valuable treasure.

Join Road to GM to get in! We're looking for more willing mentors that will gladly spend 1.5 months with a lower rated player to help them. This will also help you wink.png

Thanks!

This is not a paid job. This is an investment. Here are qualities that doing a mentor job can have:

  • Get coaching experience
  • Increase your own chess skill (teaching inevitably also teaches yourself)
  • Create friendships with other members (R2GM members are known for their positive ways)
  • You are doing good for someone who needs it which makes one feel better about oneself
  • You are bettering the chess community in the world

WHOA! I wanna be a mentor now. I bet they get more out of it than the mentee

i highly doubt that R2GM members are known for their "positive ways"

more like spamming ways lmao

I have been told that Hilddea himself (The sworn enemy of R2GM) said that R2GM was a very friendly spam club.

Now you can't take the spam part seriously because that's just a stereotype...but yeah, judging by the fact that the sworn enemy said that proves something

"sworn enemy" lfmao

That's it...Make me laugh too. Everyone calls R2GM "Hilddea's enemy club" now.

Bruvoskity

and?

Bruvoskity

OK, you want to get rid of something on my list of good things about mentoring?

Bruvoskity

oh, of course it is. That's a joke. I always say that now because I think that Hilddea is a funny guy. He's playful, too. I've got a screenshot of him writing on his profile

"MR. Not so perfect but generous"

These are the words of Hilddea

Bruvoskity

It's an opinion...but it's interesting that it came from Hilddea

still a steryotype just like americans/russians are bad is an opinion but also a steryotpe

Well, something about that stereotype is wrong because I am not bad and I am American grin.png

Bruvoskity

I don't see the difference between stereotype and opinion.

Bruvoskity

And vice versa

Will you shut it with the steryotypes?

I would be interested if any person in your club was at least higher rated than 500. I doubt that I'll have to be the mentor of my mentor. Heh heh.

ninjaswat

Um...okay what lol

...Even I am higher than 500. I don't think anyone has signed up for the thing yet that is lower than 500 either
