I only have trouble with Chess.com while playing bullet. Lately, Lichess has been great.
1 minute bullet does not work on chess.com

Main issue I face is i'm up around 5 seconds in a late endgame that i'm like +10 in evaluation and my opponent starts premoving so I do the same. All premoves but somehow I see my clock dissappear like and elevator dial, while my opponent only has the 0.1 second taken off, either that or I see my opponent get to 0.0 and then suddenly they have time on their clock, next move they flag again but then suddenly their clock has time again... till I eventually flag
Doesn't always happen just in the 10 games I loose in a row to get me tilted enough to play for the next couple hours trying to get my rating back up
Seems suss tbh not just a broken site

Chess.com development teams lack of ability is kind of infamous though -(compared to lichess for example which seems to NEVER get these random recurring issues) every time they add a change no one asked for

Your right. bullet 1+0 is unplayable on this website due to penalizing players the difference of the lag. in the end of the game where its crucial they time you out causing a loss because the server lags. Its 100% unplayable. GGs and lichess server lags are just as bad. no chess website that has figured it out yet unfortunately. its the servers where the problem is. Us users have phenomenal connection with no to very very little ping.
Players are only penalized for the lag between them and the server. Their opponent's lag does not have any impact, other than the fact the clocks get updated after moves, just like yours will on their end
Martin, sorry, but you are dead wrong here. You have the habit of defending and supporting chess.com no matter what. The fact is, bullet is indeed an issue on chess.com, and I speak with proper experience and have dealt with the worst of worst lag related issues that had nothing to do with my internet. I've even specifically tested the comparison of bullet on chess.com versus lichess, and I can tell you for certain that - there is genuinely a problem with the way chess.com handles lag/delays between players, their connection, and the servers.
The lag compensation received for a lagging player is absolutely disgusting for a seamless experience of playing a bullet chess game. The server is also incapable of handle many players online at once. As somebody playing bullet from India, I lose 0.4 seconds per premove the majority of the time even after a lightning fast connection.
I would honestly be the best bullet player on this website if I didn't have to deal with this crap.
Best bullet player would be an hyperbole, rest's fine.

The phenomenon where you see your opponent's clock hit 0.0 in a non-increment game and then it goes up again is a common consequence of lag. What you are seeing is your computer's measurement of the time taken for the opponent to move, but if it happens that there was lag on the communications, the actual time taken is less. Your computer only knows this when it receives your opponent's move. Then it corrects the opponent's time. For your clock it is different - it always has lag-free information and never needs to correct.
This is an inevitable consequence of lag if a worse consequences are avoided.
Bottom line - don't assume your opponent's flag has fallen until it has.
Also, if you genuinely premove (get your next move in before your opponent's move has been received), the chess.com interface ensures you use 0.1s, as far I understand. What can happen is that if the opponent is premoving, if you fail to get the moves in quite as quickly your premove will become simply a move and take 0.2s or more.

I suspect hacking the timer on this site is incredibly easy.
I do not understand how you expect Chess.com to cope with lags in your network links. It is like blaming a shop for not being open when you arrive without warning an hour after it has closed.
