Hello everyone and welcome to the last game of the World Chess Championship 2012 with me GM Csaba Balogh! The score of the match is equal, in case of a decisive game we will know the World Champion today, in case of a draw we will have rapid and blitz tiebreaks. The tension is on the maximum, there is no way back after one mistake. I think the first move is about 50-50 between e4 and d4, I personally expect 1.e4 from the World Champion. A few minutes remain to the start. Enjoy!

The first move is 1. e4

As I expected, 1.e4 is typical for Anand's tactics in the current match situation.

The next few moves...

1...c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5

The same line as in Game 10. Is another draw in store?

3...e6 4. Bxc6 bxc6 5. d3

So, Anand plays 5.d3 instead of 5.b3, which we have seen in game 10. It means, that Anand's team could not find any advantage after the strong 5.b3 e5! move

5...Ne7 6. b3

This rare move has only been played at high levels once before. It is likely to confuse Gelfand.

6...d6

A novelty!

7. e5 Ng6 8. h4 Nxe5 9. Nxe5 dxe5 10. Nd2

Time -

Anand: 1h 55m 59s

Gelfand: 1h 5m 55s

Gelfand finally chose...

10...c4?!

The best reply is probably 11. Nxc4, according to Houdini analysis.

Gelfand is up and pacing around the board right now. Let's see how long it takes Anand to respond!

We have a response!

11. Nxc4
