A month well spent

My experience with chess prior to Oct. 10th was very limited. I knew how the pieces moved at the very least. I would play once a year during Christmas when I would see my uncle and occasionally an online match with him or bots if I was truly bored.

Then for some reason I decided last month to start playing and really learning. I drive a truck cross country so it became something I did whenever I was waiting to be loaded or unloaded, during my lunch break, and after I was done driving. I even took my  physical board into the driver's lounge at busier truck stops and setup with a cardboard sign saying "care for a game?" Whenver the opportunity arose.

Anyway, this is all a very long winded way of getting to my point. I began this little journey at the very low 300s. And today I did it. I have peaked. I feel like I've improved a lot. I still can't see a mate to save my life [seriously please don't look at my past games. I can't even explain how many mates in 1 let alone 2,3 etc I just, don't see], and my endgame is horrendous. Also my sense of time management is non existent [I play 10|0]. I've gotten better but I lost due to time on more than half my losses.

Finally my point. I've reached 666 elo. I can go no further. 400 games. Roughly 5 hours on average a day for the last 27 days. And I've reached the pinnacle. It was fun.

In all seriousness I just had to share I got 666 elo and dragged out the post because I could. To those who made it this far, you're a Saint and a scholar.

Not sure what's up with the rating chart saying I was 900s. I played a game or 2 sometime last year, got absolutely discouraged and only played bots. Then when I started last month I just tanked down to low 300s so fast. 🤷

That is very good progress for a month. There is no reason to give up now. It may take you a while to consolidate all you have learned.

The 934 rating was after your first game a month ago. New ratings are often wildly inaccurate. Within a handful of games, your rating had fallen below 500.
