A Unique Scavenger Hunt Challenge

Let's try something different!

Below, I have randomly sorted 5 images.  These images contain clues related to two separate, chess-related facts.  However, there is a shared link between the two.  The solution is a year.

If you arrive at the solution, you can message me or post it in the thread for bragging rights.  (And why not - I will throw in a handful of awards for the first few solvers.)

This is my first attempt at one of these kinds of puzzles.  Please provide any feedback in the comments.  I hope you enjoy!

is the third one bald?

It is pointing to the person himself.  I suppose I could have made the arrow slightly more clear.

Not a bad idea regarding En Passant from the first image.  However, the first image is a much more direct, concrete clue to one side of the puzzle.  As to the other side of the puzzle - yes, you identified correctly.
