I've noticed the skill levels being very low for the ones that accuse others of cheating. The higher the ratings the less likely they are to be rude also. When I see posts on here by players complaining about how they were talked to during a live game its never by higher rated players. Maybe there's a direct correlation.
Accused of using engine!

For quite some time I thought that cheating in bullet games is impossible: the time you spend by entering the moves into the computer (or whatever other "helping" device) will eventually kill you. However, I read in one of the forums that there is a bunch of software that automatically relays computer moves into the live games with no loss of time, and it sounds like a very easy script to write. The STAFF here claims that they can catch this type of cheating, but I guess overall cheating can not be completely prevented. I dont get why a chess player would use computer to cheat on this site: it is free, and there is no money prizes. Maybe it is because the cheaters write their own chess programs and want to test them on real people before going against other chess programs? But even this seems stupid. The OTB cheating is much more serious problem, especially at a decent prized tournaments: I would get suspicious if a player goes to the restroom numerous times during G60 games, especially if it is his/her turn.
As for the verbal abuse, the level does go down when you get to play higher than average rated opponents. It usually does not bother me, I dont read any messages during the game, maybe only after it is over, and I rarely reply to abusers: it is not worth your time and effort. I prefer forums for sharing my thoughts.

the "blitz improved my game" argument, that you so keenly used, looked completely ridiculous after seeing your blitz rating being at 910 (considering you ve been beating 1400s in correspondence). Furthermore, blitz/bullet games dont help someone's chess because there is no time to analyze the position, its an application of known patterns / skills you ve acquired from standard games, analysis and/or books.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on Mr. know-it-all, it's fairly common knowledge that your blitz rating is always going to be much lower than your standard rating. Also, I clearly stated my game had improved not only after playing blitz, but after watching the top games in blitz. I find them fascinating, and it's definitely helped me. Yes, I'm still very green when it comes to openings, but that's because I really don't have the inclination or time to sit down and memorize them all. I enjoy finding ways to adjust for my sometimes poor openings. Sometimes it works - especially in standard chess - sometimes it doesn't. Unlike others, I play purely for the enjoyment of the game. Delegating that enjoyment to a computer program would be about as much fun as watching paint dry. It's a shame there's so many sad, cynical people out there.

This is not completey accurate. I recently added 5 minute games to my repritoir of 30 mintue and 3 day games. I have found that it has forced me to focus my attention on some basics such as quick identification of threats. This is a very useful skill for my target of improvement which is OTB/near OTB time controls.

by the way, I always play 10 minute blitz, which I find very good, but very stressful. I also tend to lose when I'm very tired. Like now... :)

Yes, take it as a compliment.
I can only dream of the day when someone accuses me of cheating, then I will know that my chess has finally improved
I find it odd that people (as in most of the above posters) can see that the accusation which e-check tells us about is founded on nothing more than the juvenile emotions of the accuser but they still throw equally ill founded allegations of their own about.

You mean that game?

Black can safely take the pawn (11...Qxe4) when he is a at least equal- so if you were using an engine, it was surely malfunctioning.
Lol.
Simple fact of online chess that a certain number of times you get accused of cheating. If you don't cheat it's a compliment and simply nothing to worry about.
Strangely it (and other insults) happens less often now that I'm stronger than say 5 years ago. Possibly because I play on average stronger people as well that are perhaps less insecure about their chess/understand how chess works better (that one usually loses from oneself and so the opponent is the wrong place to seek fault) and are also actually better at recognising a legitimate cheater. (Last part must also be true for me because I seem to find much less "cheaters" than I did 5-10 years ago..)
Other words of wisdom ofcourse is that some people do cheat. When they do cheat they cheat themselves real hard because their chess won't improve while even or especially when you lose you'll learn something new. Cheaters are far outnumbered by those that don't. Same with jerks vs mature sportive people online.
Don't cheat, don't worry about it, play and improve chess.
