"Why dont you put a pc logo behind their handle or so."
I was sceptical when I saw the first 2 sentences but that's a really, really good idea!

Even if chess is more about the pleasure of playing than a score, cheaters ruin the fun of people wanting a fair game.
So if you knew with a symbol behind their name that they were cheaters, you could refuse to play with them. I could decide to play with a cheater because i get on well with him and did not mind. They could also make any game with a cheater automatically non rated.
I'm not arguing against the symbol, just responding to a question.
The symbol isn't a bad idea, but could there still be problems with it? Could it become some sort of status symbol? Is it enough of a deterrent? Could it attract more cheaters to this site?
I'd be happy to play rated games against a cheater - as long as I knew they were a cheater going into the game. Actually, I'd be interested to see (since I already have the framework set up) how high a bot set up to play on chess.com could rise in the rankings. Perhaps have a seperate pool specifically for computer players of some sort, and then legitimate players can go join that pool whenever they feel like having an indomitable challenge.
What bugs me, is that something I thought was a joke post about cheating (against the rules, I know), now gets the author labeled a cheater himself.....
Something else to consider is vote chess games. Assuming the symbol idea is used, would cheaters be allowed to play vote chess games? Whatever they post in chat would greatly influence others.
If they received symbols, what would it take to get banned?
If people can use databases, books and game explorer, what is the difference. How can you tell. If after the first seven moves you have a big advantage the game would more or less play itself.
I am really sad that so many people get banned on here. Especially Bowerick/Snakesbelly.

I think he probably pushed his luck a little too far on the Forums this time. That is a shame, the Forums will be much less entertaining. I really doubt it was for cheating.
What would it take to get banned? Bad or very rude behavior. Harassing other members etc.. But not cheating. The vote chess games could have the option, no cheaters allowed...or.. Everybody allowed... Or only cheaters allowed..

I guess this "cheater symbol" would enable people only to chose to play against each other (other cheaters). Maybe some people could also play against them if they wanted, but they would have to know they play against cheaters.
To get banned you would have to be disrespective towards other players and admins, racist etc.
Cheaters wouldn't have the possibility to join votechess, nor comment in there and under each of their forum post they would have a huge mark [I'm a cheater.] (jk^^).
This complaint was sent 5 seconds ago because i am fed up with seeing members removed brutally.
Why do you people continue to remove people from the site for cheating? Why dont you put a pc logo behind their handle or so. You seem to operate as fanatics and not as a site that is about fun and games. Do you agree that chess is more about the pleasure of playing a game than having a score? Do you believe the score over the web has any value because it does not. Only elo score has a value. You do not have your priorities right when you ban fun ad nice members because they joke about what you call cheating? I would hope that you think about your persecution methods because it is a very very strange way of chasing away customers like me.
