Any possibility of chess in the afterlife?any ideas?suggestions?

Any evidence or clues 2 support or declare this a possibility?

Congratulations!  This is I'm pretty sure a genuinely new topic (that doesn't happen very often around here).

johnmusacha

I could appoint you a colonel in the Royal Transyvlanian cavalry ... that is, when the next free elections are held.

Anyone know from what movie I'm quoting?

AndyClifton

"Dude, wanna play some 5-minute after harp practice?"

AndyClifton

As long as you know it, john, that's the important thing.

johnmusacha

Ah I'm just testing your 1970's vampire knowledge.

Trapper4

Interesting thread.

Changu

Yeah,bin wonderin.wud neva wana part with it!chess i mean.

konhidras

Well if there is chess in the after life. Boy o boy!. The chess greats are probably playing the strongest chess tourney there. Or matches. Fischer vs Capablanca, Alekhine vs Petrosian, Botvinnik vs Steinitz, Morphy vs Tal!

johnmusacha

Yeah, so another novel topic speaking of all that:  who would win in a theoretical match between Fischer vs. Kasparov?

PawnPromoter316

Steinitz once claimed he could beat God after giving God pawn odds. Probably getting wiped off the board lol

AndyClifton

Well, my one spark of hope gets snuffed again.

One of those Count Yorga things?  Or is it Blacula?

cabadenwurt

Well I'm not sure of this eventuality but if you do get to Heaven and God wants to play a game of Chess make sure that you let him win. Innocent

PawnPromoter316

Then there was Fischer, who thought he could draw with God (as white) if he played 6) Bc4 in the Najdorf (Fischer assumed God would play the Sicilian Defense.)

johnmusacha

Ah Blacula was quite touching, I thought.  I'm talking about the opposite end of the 1970's though.  Hint:  It involves the perenially-chestnut-tan actor so sun-baked that you'd never think of him as a vampire.

konhidras

Now the next question is...Is there BEER in heaven?

Changu

Yeah, one of da reasons i wud hop 4 dat.2 play those greats.provided we in same afterlife, coz there may b 2 states of them.anyway,i wud draw against all players dead b4 2000 coz of advanced theoretical memorisation, theory developed afta their time.forcin draws by move 25.

Oh okay, gotcha. Wink

Yeah, I loved Blacula.  That and Cleopatra Jones--my two favorite blaxflix.

At least until you had to sing some more stupid hymns or something.
