Set up a pawn wall , then sit back and chill out while your opponent runs out of time ⌛️

Ever since I started streaming on twitch I’ve been tilted in everything. So yeah any tips?

I enjoy helping out with your streams, but from the games I've observed, I believe the cause is more the distractions than tilt. Playing good chess is MUCH tougher when streaming or playing a simul because your attention is split.

There is no direct way around this even if you learn to focus better on multiple things, you'll never play as accurately as if the chess had 100% attention. I'm not advocating to focus 100% on the chess (interacting with the chess and commentary etc. is important too), but you either need to focus a bit more on the game itself, or play longer time controls.

It doesn't even have to be rapid per se, a lot of your stream games have you blundering in time pressure (or just lower in time through the entire game), so perhaps adding increment can go a long ways. Instead of 3 min blitz, try 3/2 blitz. Instead of 10 min rapid, try 10/2 rapid or something like this. A little increment can go a long way to prevent you from flagging grin.png

You need to be constantly thinking and always have a response ready when you think on your opponents time, that way you waste less of your own time.

also moon your mouse is slower than me when I get out of bed after four hours of sleep fix that problem too

don't play openings which you don't know (unless ur trying to learn the opening) - it can cause positions that you aren't comfortable with and you will spend more time trying to play the right moves. what time control in blitz do you play?

nishk1

You need to take a day off and then when you get back play extremely focused but if you are still tilted then take another day off

Are you reviewing every game after you play it?

If you just keep playing, without reviewing, you're going to miss opportunities to learn from your mistakes. Which will then make it more likely that you'll repeat the same mistakes again, without even realizing it . . .

Not in blitz

Tilt usually comes from making mistakes.

And reviewing, after each game, will help you recognize those mistakes, so you're less likely to make them again. It also gives you a much-needed pause after each game, to stop any negative momentum you might be building.

In short: reviewing/analyzing is the antidote for tilt. thumbup.png
