App vs Desktop?

I'm just on my free trial so I haven't had a whole lot of time to look around the app and desktop site to compare. I've been mostly using the app on iPhone, but I'm curious what the differences are between the iOS app and the desktop site, if there are any. I found old posts about some features missing, but they seem to have been added. What do you guys think?

There are a lot of features in the apps, but the website still has more features overall.

Website on a laptop or PC is by far a better way to play.

What kind of things are missing?

Unfortunately I’m not around my computer enough throughout the day so I need to use my phone, but I just don’t know what I’m missing out on other than the obvious like a keyboard and mouse.

Mobile web works well for most things.

I got a 4G Android phone a year ago when 3G was phased out. When I went to the chess.com app, I could hardly find anything other than the games I'm involved in. I still have no idea how to find the forums or the alerts to new posts. On puzzles, my fingers often make move errors on the tiny screen. I really don't know why anyone would want to play on the app.

Something that's kind of funny is that the mobile app has a feature that the website doesn't.  With the website, you can only review your last 25 puzzles played.  With the app, I don't know what the limit is, but I stopped counting at 300.  It doesn't give you as much info, but it gives you the puzzle's rating, the number of moves, time to solve, and rating points gained or lost.  Tap on the line and it takes you to the puzzle itself.

Beyond that, you can use the browser on your phone to go to the chess.com website, where you'll get full functionality.

That’s really interesting to me. I haven’t had an issue while playing. As for navigation, there was a learning curve for sure but I’m getting used to the organization of everything.

Oo that’s interesting the app has an advantage like that. I wonder why desktop doesn’t have it. Overall I’m struggling because I like the look of the app and all the menus compared to the mobile site, which makes me want to mostly stick with the app, but not if I’m missing out on some key elements. So far it seems like it’s personal taste.
