Ah yes that was the other one... sometimes I will be black twice, then I get white. Happy... that is until they abort and then back to black again. Knowing fine well that is a disadvantage for me; for anyone for that matter. It effects their rating no doubt - that small statistical edge is sometimes what you need to bring a game to it's knees.
Being black a disproportionate amount of times in a row
If you use "View All Stats" and look at the bottom of the page, it separates out your white and black games.
In Live games Blitz you got 51 whites versus 55 blacks.
In Live games Standard 15 whites and 12 blacks.
So overall you have played 66 whites versus 67 blacks.
The total number of games is one higher in each section, so there are two games not represented in the breakdown - a bug I guess.

Can they not distribute the games, so it doesn't feel like I am playing black all the time lol
Though that is pretty interesting. My squabbling about being black doesn't show my win percentage any much different, though I have lost games that I really wouldn't have lost if I wasn't under time pressure with blitz.
For me white and black does not matter at all, but then I do not play on your level. I guess it becomes more important for stronger players and for slower games.
I would think that colors for rated games are assigned with a random generator. So things should even out in the long run although it is normal to get a longer run of one color every now and then.
May be there is an effect of some players not making a move when they have black so the server cancels the game. In unrated bullet one can start a game and select a color. May be some of the games you played were unrated?

And your opponents have lost games to you that they really wouldn't have lost if they weren't under time pressure with blitz;)

Not without a fight! :P
I think it simply just sucks.
There should be a feature that prevents that, so no more than 3 games in a row as one color, or you just wait it out in the lobby until the algorithm finds a fit with another player. I prefer waiting 15s more than playing 10 times as one color.
I understand that it evens out in the end, but that's like tossing a coin 10 time in a row on it's face. It could happen freaking 100000 times in a row, it's rare, but still possible. So when you're playing, it gets frustrating to have SO MANY FREAKING streak of playing one color because it just feels unatural and frankly it makes us lose interest.
We should'nt be expected to enjoy it. No in the slightest. Unless I specify it, I don't expect walking in a chess parc and being imposed to play one color, nor do I on this website.
It's highly unlikely to you'll get that many in a row, unless you're less out of balance that all those opponents.
The system give the player most die black the color, unless you've previously played the same opponent, where you should get the opposite color from the previous game.
I have just played my 9th game of black in a row, played 15 times black in my last 20 games. I was frustrated after 4 or 5 times. Now I just laugh about it. I have given up on playing white. I want to change my profile name to Caro Kahn, because that's all I do now (my black game is better though).
I heard somewhere if you have played more games as black, and your opponent has played more as white, chess.com automatically gives you white, but idk if this is true.

Getting strings of a color is very possible, but over the long haul, it will even out.
Just double checking and you're
- 32 white, 34 black over 7 days
- 77 white, 74 black over 30 days
- 91 white, 96 black over 90 days
That is completely correct @Martin_Stahl
I agree that it all works out even eventually, i don't mind playing black. Just found it anomalous that one should play the same colour that much consecutively. And yes, I was winning a few and lost the first game white was assigned. All pity me and my insurmountable 1st world problems hahaha!
Sorry just spent an over 15 games in a row as black gave up on the arena. For those saying i have had too many blacks playing stats show I HAVE PLAYED MORE GAMES AS BLACK THEN WHITE IN BLITZ. There is a problem with the pairing end of story. I work in IT and know this is a bug not a feature.
Calm down. You have a total of 6 games extra as black.
Your opponents must have more of an imbalance
Well, I often feel relieved when given the black pieces. For my rapid results, all time, as of today as black, my winning percentage for 114 games is 56%. I do realize that the sample size is small and that I am still at the beginner level. Perhaps I might start losing more as black when the rating of my opponents increases...
I can't say I have been more black than white playing games here, but I am quickly getting frustrated playing because the system keeps handing out the black pieces when I should have been white. Some times this happens three times in a row. Is this a common feature for players here?
I don't think it is fair, the player is generally at a disadvantage when playing against white. We know this is true. So if I am getting dished black more times than white in a day, I don't see how that can be fair. I don't remember once, being here, being white three times in a row. If it has happened, it must be rare because I don't remember being white three times in a row. Today, being black three times happened again and I even aborted the third game out of frustration.
Anyone else feel like they are playing black a disproportionate amount of times?
