Being a popular blogger doesn't exempt you from the rules.

What rule did she break? I find it hard to believe she was using an engine as her rating wasn't high enough. Are you aware of something the rest of us are not?

Having all content removed is what they do to engine cheaters now. They wipe your entire existence.

Is there any difference if you just choose to close your account? Will the content also be removed?

People who request closure don't get purged. I guess you can request a purge too.

I understand your logic. I don't think she was an engine cheat, however.

Chess.com thinks she was.

Hm...that's very unfortunate, personally I don't think she was cheating but maybe I'm wrong.

SilentKnighte5

Looks like that's settled.

Robert_New_Alekhine

Someone I know contacted staff, they said the couldn't do anything unless Samantha contacted them herself.

It appears to me that the contest for the best blogger can be considered drawn.

You're kidding me.

ROFL, awesome.

There are a couple of NM players who are posting interesting articles in their blogs, and don't feel the need to artificially boost their rating to gain credibility :

I would probably cast my vote for one of them.

This one for me.

Edit: Just noticed, his best blitz win is against you, Laurent. Wink

I have made PaulEChess's content visible again, as it was also automatically made invisible when his account was disabled for cheating (same as Samantha212). And yes, that is really ironic given PaulEChess' apparent surprise at Samantha212's account closure for engine use. It is an indication of how seriously Chess.com views cheating and the certainty we have in our detection methods.

It's obvious Samantha learned to cheat from PaulE.

fourpawnskewer

Such a pity, I really liked both of their blogs.

dpnorman

how do they prove that these people are cheating?

They have a special method. Can't be revealed because everyone would know then.

TheBlunderfulPlayer

So now, they're both banned for cheating... Looks like you can't trust people all the time.
